The Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a Roman Catholic apostolic religious community of both brothers and priests. We live, pray and work together in Europe, Africa, North and South America and Asia…
We use the initials SCJ after our names. SCJ comes from the Latin phrase Sacerdotes Cordis Jesu (a literal translation would be the Priests of the Heart of Jesus). In Vietnam, the Philippines and North America, we often refer to ourselves as the SCJ’s. In much in the rest of the world, we are known as Dehonians. This name comes from the name of our founder, the Venerable Fr. Leo John Dehon.
