“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mt 20, 28)
Today, Wednesday, August 12, is the 95th anniversary of the death of Fr. Leo John Dehon, founder of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (Dehonians). We remember this day as the day of his birth to a new life. Before he died Fr. Dehon had said: “For him I live, for him I die”. We believe that he now lives in eternity and that he accompanies us every day.
We are happy to celebrate our Feast Day in our community. Fr. Francis Vu Tran, the District Superior, is the main celebrant, joined by other SCJ concelebrants. In his homily, he speaks about how to serve and care for each other as Dehonians, especially how to practice our charism “Sint Unum” in community. During this special celebration, Fr. Dominic Loc Nguyen, SCJ was installed as new superior of the Sacred Heart Community in Saigon city. He replaced Fr. John the Baptist Phong Tran, SCJ, who works as a formator now in Manila.
